About The Position

The Sports and Aquatics Division is pleased to announce an opening for the position of Administrative Analyst I. This position supports program coordination and administrative operations under the general supervision of the Assistant Director. The Administrative Analyst I will assist with a variety of professional and technical administrative duties, including division budget preparation, program tracking and evaluation, grant support, and the preparation of staff reports. The position also serves as a liaison to the Burbank Athletic Federation Board.

  • Prepare written reports and related documents
  • Interpret technical documents
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, fellow employees, the public, and outside agencies
  • Receive confidential information and maintain confidentiality
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, or a work-related field.
  • A valid California Class "C" driver's license or equivalent may be required at time of appointment.
  • All required licenses and certificates must be maintained throughout employment in this classification.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and administer program applications and enrollment processes
  • Prepare, review, and process financial, statistical, and operational reports
  • Assist with division budget development, expenditure monitoring, and revenue tracking
  • Prepare staff reports, correspondence, and supporting documentation
  • Support the implementation and ongoing operations of sports leagues and aquatic programs
  • Assist with marketing, outreach, and community engagement efforts
  • Collaborate with internal City departments on program fees, updates, and administrative processes
  • Develop program materials, publications, and informational resources
  • Partner with local organizations and stakeholders to enhance program delivery and services
  • Contract compliance and financial audit support
  • Assist with basic research, studies, surveys, and data gathering; prepares written reports and may assist in the preparation of presentations
  • Assist with the implementation of existing policies, procedures, and practices, including routine personnel policy
  • Assist in budget preparation, expenditure monitoring, and routine performance measurement monitoring
  • Write legislative correspondence
  • Assist with responses to departmental and citizen inquiries
  • May assist with implementation of and compliance monitoring for contracts
  • May supervise, train, or evaluate employees upon completion of supervisory training course(s) as determined by the direct supervisor or department manager
  • May assist with community outreach or the administration of community programs
  • May serve as staff to elected officials
  • May drive on City business
