The City of Hanford seeks a motivated, collaborative Administrative Analyst to support the Recreation and Community Services Department's programs, projects, and initiatives that strengthen community engagement and enhance quality of life in Hanford. This position performs professional administrative, analytical, budgetary, operational, and programmatic work in support of an assigned department or division; conducts research and analysis on a variety of organizational, operational, financial, and program issues; develops recommendations and implements solutions; provides staff support to management; coordinates special projects and programs; and performs related work as assigned. Administrative Analyst I: This is the professional-level classification in the Administrative Analyst series. Incumbents perform a variety of administrative, analytical, and program support assignments requiring the application of professional principles and practices. Assignments generally involve established programs, processes, and procedures and are performed under general supervision. As experience and proficiency are gained, incumbents are expected to exercise increasing independence and responsibility. This classification is distinguished from the Administrative Analyst II by the complexity of assignments performed, the degree of independent judgment exercised, and the level of responsibility assumed for projects, programs, and departmental functions. Administrative Analyst II: This is the advanced journey-level class in the professional Administrative Analyst series. Incumbents perform complex professional administrative and analytical work requiring substantial independent judgment and initiative. Employees at this level are assigned responsibility for major projects, programs, and functional areas and may serve as technical resources to department staff. Assignments frequently involve policy analysis, program development, budget and contract administration, grant management, and recommendations that affect departmental operations. This classification is distinguished from the Administrative Analyst I by the complexity of assignments, greater decision-making independence, and responsibility for managing significant projects and program functions. Positions are flexibly staffed, and advancement to the II level may occur upon demonstrating the required competencies and meeting the qualifications for the higher classification.
