About The Position

The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha is recruiting physiatrists to join their expanding academic team for outpatient positions, focusing on musculoskeletal and pain management. This initiative aims to enhance UNMC's national standing through exceptional patient care, pioneering research, and robust educational programs. The department boasts an accredited PM&R residency with 16 residents and a brain injury fellowship. It collaborates closely with Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals, a leading provider of post-acute care, offering a comprehensive range of services. The role involves treating a diverse patient population, including those with brain injuries, strokes, spinal cord injuries, and complex medical rehabilitation needs. Access to advanced rehabilitation technology and research opportunities through the Madonna Institute for Rehabilitation Science & Engineering is available. This position offers the chance to influence clinical programs, resident education, and research initiatives within a supportive academic setting. The work environment is highly interdisciplinary, involving collaboration with therapists, neuropsychologists, prosthetics/orthotics specialists, and others. UNMC is also recognized as a Public Service Loan Forgiveness eligible employer.

Requirements

MD/DO (or equivalent)
Board certification/eligibility in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Outstanding interpersonal skills
Enthusiasm for patient care
