About The Position

The Division of Programs in Business (DPB) at the NYU School of Professional Studies is seeking an Administrative Aide II who will perform a wide range of clerical and general office duties including those of a confidential nature. Prioritize office activities and delegate work to student and/or casual employees. May act as work leader to junior clerical support staff. Respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the department's activities, policies and programs. Interact with the general public as NYU liaison and with University personnel including those at the senior level to resolve issues and problems. Customize and/or compose letters on own initiative or in response to requests for information. Perform general word processing duties utilizing intermediate to advanced-level functions. Modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets. Monitor complex department budgets and/or grants. Additionally, this position involves event support around coordination and planning, as well as some travel, evening and weekend work. This position is currently located at our Midtown Center, 20 W. 43rd Street.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of office experience.
  • Experience providing a high level of customer service.
  • Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding.
  • Good proofreading and writing skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of office experience (with Associate's degree).
  • 1 year of office experience (with Bachelor's degree).
  • Proficiency with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office or proficiency with Apple.
  • Knowledge of desktop publishing software.
  • Knowledge of Access.
