About The Position

The Johnathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality at NYU's School of Professional Studies is seeking an Administrative Aide to serve as a key member of the program team. The admin aide will perform a wide range of office duties including those of a confidential nature. The aide will prioritize office activities and may delegate work to student and/or casual employees. Respond to inquiries, displaying a comprehensive knowledge of the department's activities, policies and programs, and assist with coordination when necessary. Interact with the general public as NYU liaison and with University personnel including those at the senior level to resolve issues and problems. Usage of media/marketing platforms to customize and/or compose communications on own initiative or in response to requests. Demonstrate intermediate to advanced-level functions in the Microsoft and Google suites. Modify and/or create databases and complex spreadsheets and run reports. Support the department and leadership team, including the maintenance of calendars and assist with meeting coordination. Process contracts and prepare, track and maintain records of purchase orders, invoices and payments.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of office experience.
  • Experience providing a high level of customer service.
  • Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding.
  • Good proofreading and writing skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of office experience (with Associate's degree).
  • 1 year of office experience (with Bachelor's degree).
  • Proficiency with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office or proficiency with Apple.
  • Knowledge of desktop publishing software.
  • Knowledge of Access.
