About The Position

This position is in Grovetown, GA and does not offer relocation assistance. Must be within a reasonable commuting distance. As a Admin Support within Columbia County Health Department, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways. The Georgia Department of Public Health is the lead agency entrusted by the people of Georgia to proudly protect lives and promote healthy lifestyles in diverse communities statewide. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of general office or administrative experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Dependable transportation
  • Great customer service skills and phone etiquette at all times with customers and staff
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel and other computer applications
  • Experience working with medical records, billing and working in a busy medical office setting
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to complete work in a timely manner
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize

Responsibilities

  • Work and communicate with the general public, internal and external customers.
  • Provide information and services targeted to meet the customer's expectations.
  • Perform general administrative duties for various health department programs including Family Planning, Women's Health, BCCP, Sexual Health, Immunizations, Tuberculosis, Vital Records and Environmental Health.
  • Schedule appointments, answer office phone, transfer calls, take messages, fax, scan and make medical record entries.
  • Share and communicate content with other members of team.
  • Be crossed trained to fill in when other employees are at lunch, break and absences.
  • Abide by HIPPA at all times.
  • Work with M & M.
  • Complete annual training as deemed by Human Resources.
  • Participate in emergency events as an essential worker, which may include staffing a shelter, working at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or working at a Point of Dispensing site (POD).
