About The Position

The Admin Data Analyst functions under minimal supervision. Conducts and/or supervises responsible and complex administrative analysis requiring knowledge of administrative organization, policies, procedures, and practices; and perform other related duties as required. Supports management and administration functions as necessary.

Requirements

  • 2 Years Experience in the analysis and presentation of statistical information or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social science, Business or Public Administration (relevant work experience in excess of 5 years may be considered in lieu of bachelor's requirement) - Required
  • Strong use of basic statistics and good math skills required.
  • Computer skills include intermediate to advanced knowledge of multiple business and clinical computer systems.
  • Must have skills in analysis, problem solving, and strong writing skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree
  • 2 Years Experience within hospital and/or medical setting and knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Knowledge of Lean skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and interprets data obtained from Cerner, EPSI, GE, Press Ganey, HCAPS, PATS, Crimson, Truven, RL Solutions, data warehouse, and other databases.
  • Analyzes data to answer questions and facilitate performance improvement.
  • Demonstrates knowledge in process improvement system and serves as a change agent.
  • Assignments are usually given on a project basis with the expectation to fully analyze the problem, gather data and information, and find and evaluate alternative solutions and make final recommendation.
  • Demonstrate excellent computer skills and understanding of multiple applications including business and clinical systems for data collection and reporting.
  • Demonstrate skills for navigating intranet, internet and other resource and references sources to assist with obtaining data and information.
  • Demonstrates the ability to synthesize data into an executive summary for decision making.
  • Demonstrate knowledge to understand workflow, clinical systems and clinical outcomes to determine ability and method of data collection.
  • Act as a consultant /reference and interact with clinical staff, service lines, departments and committees to develop, build, report and graph data for performance improvement efforts.
  • Develop and maintain methods to assure the confidentiality of the information.
  • Interact with Sharp HealthCare Information Technology, Clinical Effectiveness and Finance as a resource for understanding, collecting and compiling reports from multiple computer applications.
  • Communicates with physicians and their offices with a positive and friendly attitude.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with Sharp management, staff, physicians, and others.
  • Ability to prioritize work load.
  • Ability to document accurate messages and notification to appropriate personnel.
  • Ability to support the Administration office functions as necessary.
  • Demonstrate skill and ability to display data on spreadsheets and graphical display for quality analysis.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of clinical areas and workflow to understand data collection.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of business systems and operations.
  • Demonstrate change management and Lean skills and techniques for improving wait times, workflow, communication and clinical outcomes.
  • Review, analyze and summarize reports for Administrative officers, committees, and agencies.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all quality department information.
  • Ability to understand workflow and clinical applications to evaluate the feasibility and accuracy of data collection.
  • Ability to work independently and anticipate the next logical follow-up step within scope of position.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate data analysis for decision-making and program evaluation.
