About The Position

Ivy Tech Community College-Bloomington is seeking non-credit course instructors with demonstrated proficiency in a subject area. This role involves developing and delivering customized and open enrollment training opportunities for clients and community members through the Ivy+ Career Link team. The team focuses on providing quality training in specialized areas to support career development and meet industry demands. Instructors will be responsible for creating and delivering various contract and open enrollment trainings, supporting key Indiana economic sectors and community needs. Classes can be held in continuing education classrooms, online, or at client sites, with flexible scheduling options including weekdays and weekends.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in a subject area as demonstrated by a completed higher education program, certifications, and/or equivalent professional or volunteer experience reflected in a professional resume.
  • Ability to teach assigned non-credit course effectively.
  • Knowledge of the subject area demonstrated through education and/or professional experience.
  • Ability to maintain professional ethics and confidentiality of students and staff.
  • Ability to promote the mission, values, purposes, and strategic plan of Ivy Tech Community College.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse and team environment.
  • Ability to develop a course curriculum that is vibrant and engaging to all participants for the full class duration.

  • Prior teaching and facilitation experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver non-credit classes as assigned.
  • Provide a learning environment that supports student success.
  • Collaborate with Ivy+ Career Link Employer Consultants and Program Manager to confirm dates, times, content, pricing, and planning for courses.
  • Teach and train classes in workplace and campus locations, meeting specific company learning objectives.
  • Work a flexible schedule as dictated by client company training demand.
  • Maintain records on student attendance, grades, and other information.
  • Develop materials as necessary for effective curriculum delivery.
  • Initiate and follow through on evaluation processes to determine the viability of each training program.
  • Assist in identifying facility and equipment needs in the classroom.
  • Participate in training and professional development as needed.
  • Notify the Ivy+ Career Link Program Manager and Employer Consultants in case of absence and work to find a substitute or reschedule.
  • Conduct all activities with respect for diversity.
  • Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned.
