About The Position

Ivy Tech Community College-Bloomington is seeking non-credit course instructors with demonstrated proficiency in a subject area through higher education, certifications, or equivalent professional/volunteer experience. The Ivy+ Career Link team offers customized and open enrollment training opportunities for clients and community members, focusing on specialized areas. Qualified instructors are needed to develop and deliver various contract and open enrollment trainings. The Ivy+ Career Link team provides transformative career development services for Ivy Tech students and alumni, as well as talent connection and employee training for employers. Their classes are open to anyone seeking to upskill with industry certifications and career enhancements to advance or pivot into the workforce, supporting Indiana's economic sectors and community needs. Classes are held in continuing education classrooms, live online, or at client sites, during weekdays or weekends, and cover a variety of topics for personal and professional enrichment. Instructors are expected to provide quality teaching materials and documentation.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in a subject area as demonstrated by a completed higher education program, certifications, and/or equivalent professional or volunteer experience reflected in a professional resume.
  • Ability to teach assigned non-credit course effectively.
  • Knowledge of the subject area demonstrated through education and/or professional experience.
  • Ability to maintain professional ethics and confidentiality of students and staff.
  • Ability to promote the mission, values, purposes, and strategic plan of Ivy Tech Community College.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse and team environment.
  • Ability to develop a course curriculum that is vibrant and engaging to all participants for the full class duration.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching and facilitation experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver non-credit classes as assigned.
  • Provide a learning environment that supports student success.
  • Collaborate and cooperate with the Ivy+ Career Link Employer Consultants and Program Manager to confirm dates and times, content, pricing, and planning for courses.
  • Teach and train classes as assigned in workplace and campus locations within programming designed to meet specific company learning objectives.
  • Work a flexible schedule as dictated by the client company training demand.
  • Maintain records on student attendance, grades, and other information.
  • Develop materials as necessary for the effective delivery of curriculum.
  • Initiate and follow through on evaluation processes that determine the viability of each and every training program delivered.
  • Assist in the identification of facility and equipment needs in the classroom.
  • Participate in training and professional development as needed.
  • Notify the Ivy+ Career Link Program Manager and Employer Consultants in the event of an absence from class, and work to find a substitute or to reschedule as necessary.
  • Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views.
  • Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned.
