About The Position

This position involves teaching Music 160R: Classical Voice at the School of Music. The role requires a firm commitment to the mission of BYU, serving as an excellent role model for students, and possessing a solid understanding of vocal function in both male and female singers. The instructor will teach lessons in an efficient and focused manner, demonstrate excellent organizational skills, and respond promptly to emails from students and colleagues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in music required; Master's degree in music preferred.
  • Prior experience teaching applied voice lessons to college-aged students required.
  • Must be able to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • Must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend (if a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints).
  • Must abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
  • Must support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.
