About The Position

This position is for an Adjunct Teaching role in Psychology, specifically for the course PSYCH 322: Developmental Psychology: Adulthood. The course covers developmental processes from early adulthood through late life, including physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development, major developmental theories, and factors influencing development. Instruction should emphasize critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and real-world application. The department values belonging, student mentoring, a collegial culture, and open and reproducible research. This course will be taught as an in-person day class during the Winter Semester 2027. Class days/times are to be determined.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field (degree must be completed by the start date).
  • Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring.
  • Ability to teach developmental processes from early adulthood through late life grounded in psychological science.
  • Ability to cover topics including physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development; major developmental theories; and factors influencing normative and atypical development across adulthood.
  • Ability to prepare students to evaluate research literature on adult development and aging.
  • Successful candidate must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.
