About The Position

This position involves teaching Psych 343: Child Psychopathology during the Fall Semester of 2026. The course will be taught in-person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 PM to 3:15 PM. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and ability to teach the causes, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological disorders in children and adolescents from a developmental psychopathology perspective. Instruction should emphasize critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and real-world application. Requirements

  • MS or PhD in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field (degree must be completed by the start date).
  • Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring.
  • Ability to teach the causes, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological disorders in children and adolescents from a developmental psychopathology perspective.
  • Knowledge of topics including classification of disorders, developmental pathways, and the influence of genetic, family, peer, and broader social systems on mental health.
  • Successful candidate must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.
  • All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Psych 343: Child Psychopathology.
