About The Position

This position involves teaching FIN 416, a course focused on Real Estate Capital Markets and Investment. The role requires leading class instruction, developing course materials, fostering student engagement, providing mentorship and career guidance, assessing student performance, and collaborating with the Finance department. Requirements

  • BA in Finance
  • Evidence of associated work experience in real estate capital markets, investment, or a related field
  • Successful teaching of Finance or Real Estate at the collegiate level or equivalent professional experience related to the content covered in the class.
  • Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
  • All employees are required to abide by the university's Honor Code and Dress & Grooming Standards.
  • Successful candidates are expected to support and contribute to the academic and religious missions of the university within the context of the principles and doctrines of the affiliated church.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or Ph.D. preferred.
  • Preference given to candidates with evidence of successful teaching of Finance or Real Estate at the collegiate level or equivalent professional experience related to the content covered in the class.

Responsibilities

  • Assume primary teaching responsibilities for FIN 416, delivering lectures and facilitating discussions on real estate capital markets, investment vehicles, valuation, and related topics.
  • Develop and maintain course materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with the learning objectives of FIN 416.
  • Foster an active learning environment by encouraging critical thinking and in-depth analysis of real estate investment concepts and market dynamics.
  • Be available to students for questions and guidance related to course content, real estate investment strategies, and professional development.
  • Share experiences and advice about building a successful career in real estate capital markets, including discussing industry trends, challenges, and opportunities in the field.
  • Evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, and exams, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Work with the Finance department to ensure course content aligns with program goals and complements related coursework within the Marriott School of Business.
