About The Position

Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. It is expected that an adjunct member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview. Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end. They should strive to employ a variety of techniques for the development of good learning conditions, view each student as a unique individual, and insofar as it is possible, provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests. Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion, the Ph.D. Methodologist is to mentor and guides students to develop into scholars and methodologists during the dissertation phase, making it possible to contribute to advancing innovative theories. The students are encouraged to utilize qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research. The qualified applicant will have an earned Ph.D. The applicant needs to have documented experience in any or all of the following methodologies: qualitative, quantitative or mixed-methods research. The applicant will be expected to guide and mentor student methodology during the dissertation process. Online faculty must have regular access to and familiarity with the Internet/e-mail.

Requirements

An earned Ph.D.
Documented experience in any or all of the following methodologies: qualitative, quantitative or mixed-methods research.
Regular access to and familiarity with the Internet/e-mail.
PhD or equivalent in an allied health profession such as, but not limited to Health Sciences, Rehabilitation Science, Physical Therapy, Communication Science, and Occupational Therapy.
Experience with a single methodology.

Nice To Haves

Terminal degree in Health Sciences or a related field.
Methodology experience in multiple methodologies.
Three years or more of full-time online teaching experience at the graduate levels and a strong record of professional achievement.
History of publication in academic or trade journals.
Established research and/or professional content agenda.

Responsibilities

Serving as mentor and methodologist on numerous dissertation committees.
Reviewing and providing feedback on dissertation manuscripts.
Prepare doctoral students to conduct qualitative or quantitative dissertation research.
Teaching either qualitative or quantitative research methods courses.
Complete grading within five days, respond to student emails within 36 hours, check into courses every 48 hours, and complete ongoing professional development.
Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
