About The Position

Florida SouthWestern State College is seeking an Adjunct Professor for Construction Management/Civil Engineering/Architecture in the School of Business & Technology. Adjunct professors are responsible for teaching courses within the prescribed curriculum, preparing and delivering lectures, administering and grading examinations, and providing academic assistance to students. The role aims to inspire students to 'Dedicate to Graduate'.

Requirements

  • Doctoral or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction, or other related engineering or construction discipline.
  • Doctoral or Master’s degree in a field related to course content plus two (2) years full-time industry construction experience.
  • MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction, or other related engineering or construction discipline, plus two (2) years full-time industry construction experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction, or other related engineering or construction discipline; AND five (5) years full-time industry experience with increasing levels of responsibility; AND a respective professional license or certification in a field such as Certified General Contractor, Certified Professional Building Designer, Professional Engineer, Project Management Professional, Registered Architect, Certified Professional Contractor or other recognized industry credential.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting and teaching courses within the prescribed curriculum for students enrolled at the College
  • Preparing and delivering lectures to students
  • Compiling, administering and grading examinations
  • Providing academic assistance to students as needed
