Intern – Construction Management / Civil Engineering
About The Position
ECC is seeking a motivated junior or senior undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field to join its San Antonio office. This on-site, project-based internship offers hands-on experience supporting large Design-Build construction projects. The position is full-time, approximately 40 hours per week, for Summer 2027, with a targeted rate of $24.00 per hour. Actual pay may vary based on education, experience, qualifications, and business needs. Interns receive mentorship from experienced construction professionals and gain exposure to Design-Build construction, design review, and military construction project delivery. Daily attendance at the office is expected.
Requirements
- Be a junior or senior undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Preferred minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Support engineers or architects on Design-Build construction projects.
- Review client RFP requirements against preliminary drawings to identify discrepancies.
- Assist in reviewing and tracking design blueprints received from A/E partners.
- Help document design progression across structural, architectural, and MEP teams.
- Review RFPs and analyze requirements.
- May work with estimating on quantity takeoffs.
