About The Position

Florida SouthWestern State College is seeking resumes for an Adjunct Professor in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture within the School of Business & Technology. Adjunct professors are responsible for delivering high-quality instruction aligned with the college's curriculum. This includes preparing and presenting lectures, administering and grading exams, and providing academic support to students. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to FSW's mission of inspiring students to 'Dedicate to Graduate'. Unofficial transcripts are required to strengthen candidacy.

Requirements

  • Doctoral or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction, or other related engineering or construction discipline.
  • OR Doctoral or Master’s degree in a field related to course content plus two (2) years full-time industry construction experience.
  • OR MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction, or other related engineering or construction discipline, plus two (2) years full-time industry construction experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • OR Alternative Qualifications (additional documentation required): [Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction, or other related engineering or construction discipline]; AND [five (5) years full-time industry experience with increasing levels of responsibility]; AND [a respective professional license or certification in a field such as Certified General Contractor, Certified Professional Building Designer, Professional Engineer, Project Management Professional, Registered Architect, Certified Professional Contractor or other recognized industry credential].

Responsibilities

  • Conducting and teaching courses within the prescribed curriculum for students enrolled at the College
  • Preparing and delivering lectures to students
  • Compiling, administering and grading examinations
  • Providing academic assistance to students as needed
