About The Position
Bergen Community College is accepting applications for adjunct positions in our ESL/ALP Program for Fall and Winter 2026. The mission of the ESL / ALP – American Language Program is to provide English as a Second Language (ESL) students, from beginner to advanced levels, with the knowledge and English language skills needed to reach their academic, professional, and personal goals. ESL/ALP has four levels (Beginner, Low Intermediate, Intermediate, Advanced), and each level consists of courses in Grammar, Reading, Writing, and Speaking/Listening. Students’ starting levels are determined by results of a language placement test.
Requirements
- Master's degree in TESOL or Applied Linguistics
- At least one full year of experience teaching ESL to diverse populations
- Preferably at a community college

- Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) courses.
Benefits
- Adjunct rates range from $922 to $960.
- Pay rates are $938 a credit for adjuncts who have obtained an Associates, $950 for a Bachelor's and $960 for a Master's.
- Tuition Waiver for BCC courses for themselves or their dependents
- ABP and 403b
