About The Position

The Math Department at North Greenville University is seeking applications for adjunct instructors of mathematics. The available courses can be taught either online or in person. Most of the math department's offerings are traditional in-person daytime classes that meet two or three times per week. Compensation is determined by the number of credits taught, with a typical course being worth three credits.

Requirements

  • 18 graduate hours in mathematics
  • Support NGU’s mission statement and core values, commitment to a Christian lifestyle and character in keeping with a biblical model
  • Affirm an understanding of, and willingness not to teach contrary to, the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 and the University’s Statement on Human Flourishing
  • Agree to abide by the employee and faculty handbooks, including community standards agreements

Nice To Haves

  • Masters in mathematics preferred
  • Verifiable prior teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Instruct classes as assigned
  • Prepare for classes by organizing and becoming familiar with student material
  • Prepare lesson plans and course material as required
  • Effectively organize and present subject matter to students
  • Objectively assess students for academic performance
  • Ensure security of assessment tools and confidential documentation
  • Effectively utilize Canvas learning management system
  • Effectively utilize Honorlock monitoring system if teaching online courses
  • Appropriately maintain student records, grades, and attendance to ensure accuracy
  • Meet all university deadlines for syllabi and grade submission
  • Understand and comply with FERPA regulations
