About The Position

This position is for a part-time, in-person, Adjunct Lecturer of Pharmacology at the Elizabethtown College Physician Assistant Program with duties to be performed on a 12 month basis. This faculty member is responsible for teaching graduate-level pharmacology courses for didactic PA students in compliance with expectations set forth by ARC-PA accreditation standards and the NCCPA blueprint under the guidance of the Program Director.

Requirements

  • Pharmacist (PharmD) or Doctorate of Pharmacology
  • At least three (3) years of clinical experience

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience in physician assistant education is preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide graduate-level lecture and curriculum to graduate PA students in the areas of pharmacology 1-2 times a week.
  • Assist the Program Director in the organization, administration, continuous and periodic review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the PA program regarding pharmacology.
  • Develop, maintain, implement, evaluate, and ensure adequacy of the pharmacology course series to ensure compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.
  • Develop and implement assessments to evaluate student competency.
  • Evaluate student performance and competencies for pharmacology.
  • Provide student remediation in compliance with program expectations as needed in the area of pharmacology.
  • Provide and maintain a reliable schedule of office hours (2 hours a week) for student consultation.
