About The Position

This application is designated for INTERNAL USE ONLY and should be completed solely upon instruction from the Department Chair, Dean, or Human Resources, specifically for adjunct instructors applying to teach one of the following programs: Career Programs Agriculture & Natural Resources Engineering, Manufacturing, and Industrial Technologies Transportation. Primary responsibilities include teaching courses in the subject area. Applicants must be able to teach day and evening classes, which may include classes offered at our main campus and off-site. Instructors may be required to teach the following type of courses traditional methods (seated), online, and hybrid. The candidate must complete the mandatory SafeColleges training within 30 days of hire and annual refresher training thereafter.

Requirements

  • Meet the faculty qualifications as defined by Wayne Community College to ensure compliance with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
  • All certifications and/or post-secondary credentials must be from a regionally accredited institution and submitted to Human Resources within 30 days of hire.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer software.
  • Must be a self-starter, a team player, and possess the ability to work well with others.
  • Submit an employment application and all supporting materials, including copies of certifications, post-secondary transcripts, resume, and cover letter.
  • Unofficial transcripts from all degree-granting institutions must be electronically attached to your application or submitted to Human Resources before being considered for an interview.
  • All degrees must be awarded by a regionally accredited institution recognized by the United States Department of Education.
  • Official transcripts for all coursework and degrees will be required within 30 days of hire.
  • Foreign degree evaluations must be attached in lieu of transcripts for degrees earned outside the United States.
  • Wayne Community College accepts foreign transcript evaluations only from The National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.
