About The Position

Oakland Community College (OCC) is a multi-campus institution in Oakland County, Michigan, dedicated to providing accessible and affordable quality learning opportunities. As one of the largest community colleges in Michigan, OCC serves over 12,000 students and is seeking Adjunct Faculty Instructors who are committed to diversity, shared responsibility, open communication, personal empowerment, integrity, and ethical commitment. Adjunct Faculty are expected to utilize modern technology in the classroom. Applications are accepted continuously for an as-needed basis throughout the academic year, dependent on enrollment. If a need arises, candidates from the pool are reviewed, and the Department will contact them directly. Candidates without legal residence in Michigan will be Edustaff employees, with employment offers, salary, and benefits provided by Edustaff, not OCC. Applicants must include a resume, cover letter, and unofficial transcripts for all degrees. Official transcripts will be required within 30 days of hire.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Fire Fighting Technologies OR Bachelor's degree in Fire Fighting Technologies and 5 years of experience OR Associate's degree in Fire Fighting Technologies and 8 years of experience.
  • Ability to work as a team player in a multi-cultural working environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with multi-cultural students and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Teach anticipated day and/or evening Fire Fighting Technologies courses, ranging from basic to advanced skill levels.
  • Maintain and/or provide required licensure and certifications, where applicable.
