About The Position

Continuing Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) at SAIT offers a wide range of programs designed to support lifelong learning, career advancement (through reskilling and upskilling) and customized talent development solutions for corporations. SAIT has partnered with the Solicitor General and Alberta Advanced Education to deliver Standard First Aid Training and H2S Alive at Calgary Correctional Centre (CCC). This instructional opportunity is scheduled to deliver in-person training on site at CCC. Programming will run Monday to Friday (with the exception of Statutory holidays), max 6 hours per day.

Requirements

• Certified Standard First Aid Instructor with a minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience.
• Red Cross SFA Instructor Certification required
• H2S Alive Instructor Certification required
• Experience and fluency with Office 365 (MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
• Fluent in English reading and vocabulary
• Comfortable speaking to the public
• Positive & respectful attitude
• Excellent communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Training and knowledge of adult learning fundamentals
• Formal training or education in facilitation or teaching
• Formal training in online technologies

Responsibilities

• Deliver Standard First Aid Training and H2S Alive at Calgary Correctional Centre (CCC).
• Deliver in-person training on site at CCC.
• Read, interpret and deliver specific curriculum.
• Organize and present written information.
• Speak to the public.
• Facilitate adult learning.
