About The Position

This position involves providing instruction in Theatre within the Prison Education Program for the 2026-2027 academic year. The role requires delivering engaging and effective teaching to students, utilizing diverse instructional strategies, and evaluating student progress. A key aspect of the role is fostering a culture of belonging and inclusivity, ensuring all students and staff feel valued and respected. The instructor will also support the college's commitment to equal opportunities and fair employment practices.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in theatre OR Bachelor’s degree in Theatre PLUS a minimum of 6 graduate credits in Theatre AND an approved plan to complete a Master’s degree within 2 years that includes 18 graduate credits in the subject area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction to students according to the objectives of each course assigned.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies in the classroom, online, hybrid, or lab setting that are appropriate to individual student needs and may include, but are not limited to, lectures, small groups, demonstrations, and computer-assisted instruction.
  • Prepare and administer evaluation instruments and maintain accurate student records on attendance, achievement, and progress.
  • Assist in gathering and interpreting data for department assessment.
  • Support and promote an environment of belonging where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute.
  • Foster a community where each individual and their varied perspectives enrich the educational experience and create a safe and respectful environment.
  • Support the College’s policies and programming related to access, fair employment, and equal opportunities for all.
