About The Position

The Department of College of Music at the University of North Texas seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool. This position is for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters and impacts the entire undergraduate population, focusing on Pre-Music students who have not yet been admitted as music majors. The role involves teaching MUGC 4890, Studies in Music, a new course designed to provide students with information about becoming a music major and exploring alternative majors at UNT.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in Music or a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours directly related to the assigned courses(s).
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities NA

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate preferred.
  • Experience teaching at the college level.
  • An understanding of working with FTIC students who are exploring potential majors.

Responsibilities

  • Teach MUGC 4890, Studies in Music.
  • Provide information to Pre-Music students about becoming a music major.
  • Inform students about options for alternative majors at UNT.
