About The Position

The Department of Political Science at the University of North Texas (UNT) is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach PSCI 2306, an introductory undergraduate course focusing on the institutions of government with an emphasis on the U.S. and Texas Constitutions. This course will be taught in person at the UNT Denton campus during the Fall 2026 semester. The instructor will be responsible for preparing and delivering course content, evaluating student work, maintaining academic records, communicating with students, holding office hours, and adhering to departmental and university policies.

Requirements

• A master’s degree in political science with outstanding teaching experience in teaching foundational-level Political Science courses, OR a master’s degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in Political Science
• Outstanding teaching experience in teaching lower-level Political Science courses

• Ph.D. in Political Science or Ph.D./MA. in Political Science, or equivalent, including 18 graduate hours in Political Science
• Successful experience teaching adults in a post-secondary institution
• Excellent communications skills
• Experience with HSI/MSIs
• Spanish language proficiency

• American Sign Language proficiency
• Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations) language proficiency
