About The Position

Atlanta Technical College is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor – Phlebotomy (Part-Time) position in the Health and Public Safety Technologies Division. This position is located on Atlanta Tech’s Main Campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta. Under general supervision of the Dean of Health and Public Safety Technologies, the Adjunct Instructor – Phlebotomy (Part-Time) will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students develop essential Phlebotomist skills. This is part-time position, up to twenty-nine (29) hours per week.

Requirements

Certificate, diploma, degree in phlebotomy, medical assisting or related health field
Two (2) or more years of directly related work experience
Prior teaching or training experience in phlebotomy or related subjects
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Strong interpersonal skills
Oral and written communication
Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials
Knowledge of vocational area of assignment
Skill in presenting subject matter
Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress
Skill in the use of computers and job-related software programs
Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners
Knowledge of student information systems
Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.

Nice To Haves

Current phlebotomy certification (ASCP, NHA, NCCT, or equivalent)
Three (3) or more years of recent phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience
Experience in a technical college setting is a plus
May be required to teach at other locations and other locations within the community.

Responsibilities

Teach and demonstrate Phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture, capillary puncture, specimen handling, and infection control.
Deliver engaging lectures and hands-on lab instruction aligned with program curriculum.
Evaluate student performance through exams, skills assessments, and clinical supervision.
Provide feedback, mentorship and guidelines to support student success.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.
Ensure compliance with institutional policies, HIPAA, OSHA, and program accreditation standards.
Performing other duties as assigned.
