About The Position

The Department of Communication and Media Studies at North Central College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach introductory media courses for the Spring 2027 semester. The course, COMM 185/Global Media in a Digital Age, surveys the development, structure, economics, and regulation of major media, with a focus on digital communication and the sociological and cultural impact of media on society and civic life. This course is a requirement for Communication and Media Studies majors and a popular general education option. Instruction will be in-person at the Naperville, IL campus. The spring semester runs from January 11 to May 5, 2027.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Media Studies, Communication, Journalism, or a closely related field with relevant coursework.
  • Ability to teach COMM 185/Global Media in a Digital Age.
  • Availability for the Spring 2027 semester (January 11 to May 5, 2027).
  • Ability to teach in-person at the Naperville, IL campus.
