About The Position

The Department of Keyboard Studies seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027 and Summer 2027 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs. The anticipated need may include but is not limited to: Expertise in Sacred Music- MUSM. All instruction will take place on the UNT Denton campus.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in music or a closely related field.
  • At least three years of professional experience.
  • Prior college-level teaching experience.
  • Ability to communicate with others to exchange information.

Nice To Haves

  • Terminal degree in music or closely related field.
  • Experience in teaching keyboard performance with reference to the standards of performance of the UNT Keyboard Studies program.
  • Experience with HSI/MSIs.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.

Responsibilities

  • Teach keyboard studies courses as assigned.
  • Provide instruction in Sacred Music (MUSM) as needed.
  • Conduct all instruction on the UNT Denton campus.
