About The Position

The Department of Keyboard Studies at the University of North Texas (UNT) is seeking qualified individuals to join its Adjunct Instructor pool for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters. This is a continuous recruitment posting, and openings for teaching specific courses will arise periodically based on departmental needs. Instruction will be conducted on the UNT Denton campus. The anticipated teaching needs may include expertise in Sacred Music (MUSM). Requirements

  • Master's degree in music or a closely related field.
  • At least three years of professional experience.
  • Prior college-level teaching experience.
  • Ability to communicate with others to exchange information.
  • Submission of a minimum of two professional references.

Nice To Haves

  • Terminal degree in music or closely related field.
  • Experience in teaching keyboard performance with reference to the standards of performance of the UNT Keyboard Studies program.
  • Experience with HSI/MSIs.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or Yoruba.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses in Keyboard Studies, potentially including Sacred Music (MUSM).
  • Provide instruction on the UNT Denton campus.
  • Maintain professional standards in teaching and student interaction.
