About The Position

The Department of Instrumental Studies at the University of North Texas (UNT) is seeking qualified individuals to join its Adjunct Instructor pool. This posting is for potential teaching opportunities during the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters. The specific courses and openings will vary based on departmental needs. Adjunct instructors will be responsible for teaching applied performance lessons and/or ensemble performance in areas such as strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, early music, and instrument repair. All instruction will occur on the UNT Denton campus.

Requirements

• Terminal degree in music or closely related field. Professional experience may be accepted in place of an earned degree.
• Prior college-level teaching experience.
• Ability to communicate with others to exchange information.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in teaching instrumental performance with reference to the standards of performance of the UNT Instrumental Studies program.

Responsibilities

• Teach applied performance lessons in instrumental studies.
• Teach ensemble performance in instrumental studies.
• Instruct in areas of strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, early music, and instrument repair.
