The Department of Economics, Accounting and Business at Converse University is seeking adjunct instructors for Fall 2026 to teach two courses: ACC 211 Accounting Principles I and ACC 380 Accounting Information Systems. The fall semester runs from Aug. 12-Dec. 4, including final exams. The department values the use of Excel in teaching and is open to candidates interested in in-person, online, and/or asynchronous teaching formats. ACC 211 Accounting Principles I (3 credits) covers the basic techniques of financial accounting, emphasizing the processes of recording, classifying, summarizing, and interpreting business transactions. Topics include balance sheet and income statement preparation, with a focus on the asset side of the balance sheet and related income statement accounts. This course is currently scheduled for MWF 1:30-2:20 pm. ACC 380 Accounting Information Systems (4 credits) studies business information systems for future business professionals, aiming to provide a foundation for accounting user support, information technology, and problem-solving. Students will be exposed to various information technologies and methods for analyzing business processes, with discussions on the advantages and disadvantages of different technologies. The prerequisite is ACC 211. This course is currently scheduled for TuTh 2:30-3:45 pm, with an additional hour of online content.
