About The Position

Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC), a multi-campus institution within the State University of New York (SUNY) system, is seeking experienced, dynamic, capable, creative, and caring individuals to join its Adjunct Faculty team for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. HVCC, founded in 1953 and located in scenic Upstate NY, offers over 80 degree and certificate programs and serves nearly 9,000 students annually. The college is committed to building a culturally diverse and pluralistic faculty and strongly encourages applications from minorities and women. This position is within the Business and Criminal Justice Department and focuses on teaching Health Information Management and Technology courses, specifically HITC 110, Medical Coding.

Requirements

• Must be a CPC approved instructor to teach the PMCC Medical Coding course using the AAPC coding curriculum.
• Must be either a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident of the United States.
• Appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.

Nice To Haves

• Post-secondary teaching experience preferred.
• Experience with online delivery systems (D2L Brightspace) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction in the Business department.
• Evaluate student performance.
• Participation in departmental, division wide, and college wide committees for the purpose of building community and fulfilling aspirations of professional development is encouraged and supported.
• At the direction of the Department Chairperson, Adjunct faculty shall perform duties as specified in the Faculty Contract.
