Summary Description: This position is ideal for experienced RNs, nurse educators, or semi-retired clinicians who want to stay connected to the profession by teaching upper-division nursing courses and/or providing hands-on clinical instruction at healthcare facilities throughout the Portland metro area. This flexible teaching role may include classroom-based lectures, laboratory instruction, or clinical site supervision, depending on the candidate's experience and interest. Our curriculum covers areas such as care management, health promotion, population health, professional leadership, and evidence-based practice. Primary Job Duties: Teach assigned courses, including lecture and laboratory sections as assigned, in nursing, modeling current best practices in teaching, and demonstrating a commitment to sound andragogical and pedagogical practices. Courses may include, but are not limited to, Pathophysiology; Pharmacology; Assessment and Health Promotion; Interprofessionalism; Medical Surgical Nursing: Providing Care for Adults and Older Adults (I & II); Leadership/Management: Epidemiology, Prevention & Informatics; Mental Health Nursing; and/or Community and Population Health. Advise and mentor students during the course. Clearly communicate to students when and how to secure instruction and feedback outside of regular course meeting hours. Provide prompt and thorough feedback to students to ensure their ability to incorporate changes before subsequent assignments. Work collegially with faculty, staff, and students. Understand and promote the mission, values, and core themes of Warner Pacific University. Exhibit excellent communication skills in all interactions with faculty, staff, and students.
