The David S. Congdon School of Entrepreneurship at High Point University seeks an Adjunct Event Management Instructor to teach EMG 2040: Major Sporting Events beginning in the upcoming semester. This course is a 2-credit elective within the Event Management (EMG) curriculum that explores the strategic planning, operations, and stakeholder relationships involved in hosting major sporting events. This course examines the distinctive characteristics of major sporting events within the global events industry, including the role of organizing committees, host cities, media partners, sponsors, and tourism stakeholders. Students will analyze how sporting events contribute to economic development, destination branding, and community engagement while also exploring the planning and operational complexities required to deliver successful events. Successful applicants will be assigned to teach this course in person on the campus of High Point University for the upcoming semester or placed in our adjunct pool for future consideration to teach additional Event Management courses.
