About The Position

The Department of Economics at the University of North Texas is seeking a qualified individual to teach an in-person section of an upper-level elective course on the economic relationship between the United States and Mexico. This course typically enrolls between 25-40 students and focuses on trade policy, immigration, and illicit drug trade.

Requirements

  • MA or MS in Economics for undergraduate courses.
  • Ph.D. in Economics for graduate courses.
  • Ability to communicate with others to exchange information.
  • Submit a minimum of two professional references as part of the application.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of teaching experience at a university or community college.
  • Previous experience teaching a similar course, or international trade, international finance, or the economics of immigration.
  • Experience with HSI/MSIs.
  • Ability to speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.

Responsibilities

  • Teach an in-person section of the course on the economic relationship between the United States and Mexico.
  • Focus the course content on trade policy, immigration, and illicit drug trade.
  • Engage with an upper-level elective course with an enrollment typically between 25-40 students.
