About The Position
Wilson Community College is seeking to expand its pool of part-time/adjunct faculty for potential future class instruction. These positions are part-time and temporary, and applicants may be contacted if a suitable role becomes available. The role involves providing quality, effective instruction in assigned courses. Specifically, the Adjunct/Part-time Instructor will teach the Transition English course, a self-paced English course designed to help students develop foundational reading and writing skills for success in college-level gateway English courses.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in English, English Education, or related field is required.
- Qualified, credentialed applicants will be considered.
Nice To Haves
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in teaching basic reading and writing skills is preferred.
- Experience with online instruction is preferred.
- Experience with Moodle and NROC is also preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned online, day, and/or evening classes.
- Maintain and submit accurate attendance records.
- Maintain accurate academic records, such as syllabi and grades.
- Submit required forms and documents in a timely manner.
- Maintain consistent communication with students and supervisor.
