The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope-Texarkana (UACCHT) is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for the Business Technology Department. This position is a less than annual appointment (fixed term) and is not work-study. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible to their division dean and the Vice Chancellor for Academics, with duties focused on teaching and student learning. This includes providing instruction in accordance with college philosophy and objectives, using established syllabi and learning outcomes. The role involves assessing student learning, improving instruction based on assessment, and acquainting students with course requirements, including Blackboard usage and grade location. The instructor must meet classes as scheduled, follow course syllabi, attend meetings, prepare thoroughly for each class, and inform the dean if a class cannot meet. Professional conduct and appearance are expected, along with providing out-of-class student consultation. Accurate record-keeping in Blackboard, emphasizing class attendance, and reporting students needing counseling are also key responsibilities. The instructor will submit final course grades electronically and complete end-of-course assessments. Any irregularities concerning instruction should be reported to the division dean and/or Vice Chancellor for Academics. Maintaining current credentials and abiding by the Policies and Procedures Manual are required. Participation in professional activities to stay current in the discipline and submitting "No Show" students by the census date are also part of the role.
