The Department of Biological Sciences offers a choice of majors and concentrations that seek to provide students with an understanding of the sciences that enables them to pursue a range of post-graduate options, including graduate school, medical school, the allied health field, or immediately seek employment in a variety of settings in industry, business, education and government. Requirements

• Masters level or higher in the field of biology, genetics or career equivalent.
• Advanced degree or significant experience in the area relevant for the course that will be taught.
• Candidates must evidence the potential for strong classroom teaching and positive student interaction and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Teach two lecture course sections on genetics for health professions and one laboratory course on human biology.
• Teach undergraduate classes on an as-needed basis.
• Create and maintain a course page in Canvas LMS structure.
• Design and grade assessments of student learning.
• Respond to students in a timely manner via weekly office hours and/or email.
• Sole contracted responsibilities are those activities required in the delivery of a course (e.g., mentoring/coaching, preparation, teaching, grading, office hours).
• In some instances, there may be some contracted responsibilities for advising, course development or meeting other departmental needs.
