About The Position

CC Prep Academy is seeking experienced and engaging Adjunct HVAC Instructors to prepare adult learners for successful careers in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration industry. Day and afternoon/evening teaching opportunities are available, making this an excellent opportunity for experienced HVAC professionals who want to share their industry expertise while continuing to work in the field. Requirements

  • Significant hands-on professional experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, service, repair, or related mechanical systems
  • Strong working knowledge of residential and/or commercial HVAC systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of refrigeration, electrical systems, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and HVAC safety practices
  • EPA Section 608 Certification
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical instruction for adult learners with varying levels of experience
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
  • Commitment to reliability, professionalism, safety, and student success
  • A genuine interest in helping adult learners build skills, confidence, and sustainable careers

Nice To Haves

  • Additional HVAC, OSHA, NATE, NCCER, or other industry-recognized certifications strongly preferred
  • Prior teaching, training, mentoring, apprenticeship, or supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, hands-on HVAC instruction that combines technical theory with practical, real-world application
  • Teach core HVAC concepts, including heating and cooling systems, refrigeration, electrical fundamentals, controls, troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair
  • Provide students with practical experience using HVAC tools, equipment, diagnostic instruments, and industry-standard procedures
  • Reinforce OSHA, EPA, environmental, and workplace safety practices throughout classroom and lab instruction
  • Prepare students for relevant industry certifications and employment opportunities in the HVAC field
  • Evaluate student progress through practical demonstrations, assignments, assessments, and competency-based activities
  • Connect classroom learning to real-world HVAC scenarios, employer expectations, and current industry practices
  • Maintain a safe, organized, professional, and student-centered classroom and lab environment
  • Collaborate with academic leadership and colleagues to continuously strengthen curriculum, instruction, and student outcomes
