About The Position

The History Program at Marymount University seeks applicants for adjunct faculty positions. Interviews will occur as open positions become available. The History Program values innovative approaches to pedagogy and interest in mentoring and supporting students of color, international students, transfer students, and first-generation students. Requirements

  • M.A. or Ph.D. in History or Politics or related fields
  • Demonstrated active engagement in pedagogical development and scholarship
  • Strong communication and instructional skills
  • Commitment to inclusive excellence and student success

Nice To Haves

  • Prior college-level teaching experience
  • Experience with learning management systems and online teaching platforms
  • Professional licensure or industry certifications (where applicable)
  • Experience working with diverse and first-generation student populations

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in assigned discipline
  • Prepare and deliver engaging, student-centered instruction (in-person, hybrid, or online as assigned)
  • Develop syllabi and course materials aligned with departmental standards
  • Assess student performance and provide timely feedback
  • Maintain regular communication with students and department leadership
  • Uphold university academic policies and integrity standards
