About The Position

Saint Joseph's University (SJU) is seeking candidates with a demonstrated interest in food marketing, hospitality, and agribusiness for part-time adjunct faculty positions. These positions involve instructing one or two courses per semester on an as-needed basis, with courses available during the day and evening for both undergraduate and master's programs. SJU, a private, Catholic, Jesuit institution, offers a wide range of academic programs and utilizes adjunct instructors to supplement the expertise of full-time faculty. Adjunct instructors are appointed on a semester-to-semester basis without guarantee of consecutive appointments, with re-appointment dependent on university need, student enrollment, and satisfactory performance. Applicants are screened throughout the academic year, and teaching responsibilities are assigned by the department chair. Compensation is based on educational credentials, professional experience, and instructional background. Adjunct instructors are expected to adhere to the terms and conditions of employment at Saint Joseph's University, including the Faculty Handbook.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and guidance to students
  • Instruct an assigned course, providing syllabi and other instructional materials
  • Use of university learning management systems to deliver instruction
  • Use established course content and materials to teach course(s) either on campus or online (course masters must be adhered to)
  • Prepare course materials
  • Participate in Assurance of Learning activities
  • Provide support and guidance to students
