About The Position

Baker College is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to teach Communications for its Running Start Program at Eton Academy in Birmingham, Michigan. This program is designed for students aiming to get a head start on their college and career goals. The class will be held on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The successful candidate will embrace Baker College's Student-First philosophy, act as a positive role model, and contribute to the college's success.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in English, literature, composition, rhetoric, writing, or a related subfield (journalism or MFA in creative writing) OR any Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in English, literature, composition, rhetoric, writing, or written communications.
  • Experience working in higher education, particularly in teaching and curriculum design.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems, especially Canvas.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, video conferencing tools, and general internet use.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Belief in and support of the student-first philosophy.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate degree is preferred.
