About The Position

Kent State University’s Trumbull Campus is seeking a part-time Veterinarian or Biology Adjunct Instructor for the Veterinary Technology Program. The course, BSCI 10005 Small Animal Anatomy and Physiology for Veterinary Technicians, covers the identification of anatomy and basic physiological functions of domestic small animals, including skeletal, muscles, integumentary, special sense organs, respiratory, digestive, urinary, reproductive, endocrine, nerves, circulatory, and immune systems. The course will consist of both lectures and laboratories, involving instructive learning, demonstrations, discussions, laboratory assignments, and dissection of preserved animal cadavers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a related field OR DVM.
• Ability to communicate with others.
• Must pass a security check.

Responsibilities

• Teach BSCI 10005 Small Animal Anatomy and Physiology for Veterinary Technicians, including lectures and laboratories.
• Facilitate student learning through demonstrations, discussions, and laboratory assignments.
• Oversee and conduct dissection of preserved animal cadavers.
• Assess student understanding of anatomy and physiology as applied to veterinary technology and medicine.
• Communicate effectively with students and colleagues.
