About The Position

The Department of Security Studies and International Affairs in the College of Arts & Sciences at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking an adjunct (part-time) faculty member. This role involves teaching "The Modern Middle East in World Affairs" at the Daytona Beach, Florida campus. The course provides a historical examination of the land, societies, cultures, economics, and politics of the Middle East from World War I to the present, exploring the complex interplay of religious, social, political, and international forces that have shaped the region’s development and political landscape over the past century. Embry-Riddle is a global leader in aviation and aerospace, celebrating its 100th year, with vibrant campuses in Daytona Beach, FL, and Prescott, AZ, along with a worldwide network spanning roughly 120 global locations. The university leads innovation in STEM education, serving more than 30,000 students worldwide with programs in Applied Science, Aviation, Business, Technology, Engineering, Safety, Security, and Space.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher with 18 graduate hours in the discipline they intend to teach

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience at the college level is strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction in accordance with course syllabus
  • Prepare and grade assignments, quizzes, and exams
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students
  • Hold regular office hours to support student learning
  • Collaborate with department faculty and staff to ensure course quality and consistency
