About The Position

Adjunct Faculty refers to an educator hired to teach on a course by course basis throughout an academic year. This specific position is for East Texas A&M University, Department College of Innovation and Design, located in Commerce, Texas. The role involves teaching three semester credit hours per 7-week term in a fully online competency-based education (CBE) format, specifically supporting Hospitality Management courses. Requirements

  • Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hour in Hospitality Management OR a terminal degree.
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Position will require work after business hours and on weekends.

  • College or University teaching experience.
  • Evidence of teaching excellence.
  • Prior relevant industry experience in hospitality management.
  • Online or hybrid teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach three semester credit hours per 7-week term in the fully online competency-based education (CBE) format supporting the Hospitality Management courses.
  • Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours and provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments.
  • Facilitate courses by adhering to the standard course syllabus as provided by the Undergraduate Department Head.
  • Prepare and evaluate course assignments and examinations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
