The University of Redlands’ Department of Counseling and Human Services, within the School of Education, is building an adjunct faculty pool to support its Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) program. Adjunct faculty may teach graduate-level CMHC courses, primarily in person, with a limited number of online offerings. Assignments may be scheduled during daytime or evening hours. The department seeks experienced mental health professionals, counselor educators, and counseling leaders who can help prepare ethical, culturally responsive counselors to serve diverse communities. Instructors facilitate learning that integrates counseling theory, research, ethics, and professional practice; support students’ professional competencies and identity development; assess learning and provide feedback; use educational technology and learning management systems; and maintain communication that contributes to a supportive learning environment. Faculty may also collaborate on curriculum development, accreditation, and continuous improvement, and support preparation for practicum and internship experiences. Instructional needs span clinical mental health counseling, counseling theory and skills, diagnosis and assessment, crisis and trauma-informed care, lifespan development, group and multicultural counseling, career development, substance use and recovery, marriage and family counseling, ethics, research and evaluation, community mental health, children and adolescents, integrated behavioral health, fieldwork seminars, and clinical supervision. The role is part-time and short-term, with an hourly salary range of $21.18–$23.82, depending on qualifications and other factors. Applicants must complete a satisfactory background check. A valid driver’s license is required only for positions that require one.
