About The Position

The primary responsibility for this position is to support, monitor, and evaluate student learning in the clinical setting by reinforcing program objectives, ensuring compliance with departmental and accreditation standards, and fostering effective communication among students, clinical staff, and program leadership.

Requirements

  • Maintains current knowledge of professional practices, standards, protocols, and clinical competencies in Sonography.
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of program goals, student learning outcomes, clinical objectives, and evaluation methods.
  • Demonstrates effective, professional, and positive communication with students, clinical staff, faculty, and administrators.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills necessary to manage multiple clinical sites, student schedules, evaluations, and documentation.
  • Understands and applies departmental policies, clinical procedures and accreditation requirements.
  • Demonstrates ability to objectively assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Associate degree or two-year technical certificate
  • ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI credential in Sonography. DMS clinical faculty must hold both AB and OB credential.
  • Documents the equivalent of two-years full time clinical experience in sonography.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical visits, as scheduled, to clinical affiliates to observe students in the clinical environment.
  • Evaluate student clinical performance, professional behavior, technical skills, and progression toward competency.
  • Ensure timely documentation of student performance and complete evaluations within the established program deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with students and clinical staff regarding student performance, expectations, and program requirements.
  • Reinforce program standards, professionalism, and ethical practice in the clinical setting.
  • Serve as a liaison between the college and clinical affiliates to ensure continuity between didactic, lab, and clinical instruction.
  • Communicate student progress, concerns, and clinical site feedback to Clinical Coordinator and Program Director.
  • Assist in identifying and addressing clinical performance issues and participate in corrective action processes, when necessary.
