About The Position

This is an open continuous vacancy announcement that will be used to fill adjunct vacancies as they occur. Adjunct faculty are a key component of the university community, enriching the curriculum with their professional experience and scholarly expertise. They play a vital role in every department and program in every school and college at the university, teaching on campus, in our on-line programs, and working with students one-on-one. The Department of Environment, Development, and Health (EDH) defends and cares for life on Earth through research, teaching, advocacy, and policy. We work on justice- and equity-informed approaches to climate change, environmental degradation, poverty, migration, urbanization, emerging technologies, governance, and global health. Established in 1957, American University’s School of International Service (SIS) is a top-ten school of international affairs located in Washington, D.C. SIS faculty produce transformational research and prepare our students for global careers in government, nonprofits, and business.
