About The Position

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education serving Central Virginia. As part of the Virginia Community College System, PVCC is recognized for its transfer curriculum, its relationship with the University of Virginia, and its Workforce Development Programs. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis for adjunct faculty positions in Mathematics. The college is expanding credit course offerings in Mathematics for incarcerated students at Fluvanna Correctional Center, Buckingham Correctional Center, and Dillwyn Correctional Center.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Mathematics or a Master's degree in another discipline with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Mathematics.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous teaching experience at the community college level.
  • Experience teaching incarcerated students.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching developmental and/or college-level courses in Mathematics.
  • Teaching may include distance-learning courses.
  • Teaching may occur during the day and evening, on weekdays and weekends.
  • Primarily face-to-face instruction with the possibility of remote instruction.
